Put your video on your website

What “embed” means

An embed puts the video player inside your website page. Copy embed code gives you a prepared block to paste into your website builder’s embed or HTML block. You do not need to write the code yourself.

• A normal text or image block may not accept an embed.
• If your website builder does not offer an embed block, use a button or text link to the public viewing link.
• Preview the page after saving and check that the player fits on a phone.

Copy the embed

1. Open Share in the finished video’s editor.
2. Find the embed option and copy it.
3. In your website builder, add the block used for embedded content and paste what you copied.
4. Preview your website on desktop and mobile before publishing.

Place the player in your website

1. Copy embed code from Share in the finished tour.
2. Open the page in your website builder and add the block labelled Embed, HTML or Custom code. Its name depends on the builder.
3. Paste the complete copied block without changing it, then save the website page.
4. Preview the page, publish it through your website builder when ready, and check the public version.

Video player or complete property page?

Copy embed code in the video’s Share settings places the video player in your website. A property page has a separate Copy embed option in its owner toolbar. Choose that when you want to display the property page itself.

Test it as a visitor

Open the website without being signed into VideoTour.ai and check playback. If the player is cut off, adjust the space assigned to it in your website builder. The original tour must have a finished video available.

If the player is cut off or shows code

• Visible code usually means it was pasted into an ordinary text block. Move it into the builder’s embed or HTML block.
• A cut-off player usually needs more space in the website layout. Check both phone and desktop previews.
• If the page asks viewers to sign in, check that you copied the public embed, not an editor address.

If your website does not accept embeds

Use the public viewing link on a button or text link instead. Your web designer can also help place the copied embed in the correct part of the page.
